This post will cover the rest of January 2025. As I’ve been looking into these mass shootings, I’m beginning to feel as though mass shootings are being used as a fear tactic to call for gun control. As you will see, many of these in January no one knows what the circumstances are surrounding the shooting. Why is there no information regarding many of these? From what I could find online, most news outlets give the basics but that the event is “still under investigation”.

Location: Dubberly, Louisiana

6 injured, 2 in critical condition

4 arrested

Took place at an un-permitted, rural bonfire/party. Supposed to have security, but police found none other than a woman at the “gate” collecting entry fees and issuing armbands. Circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown.

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana

2 dead, 2 injured, suspect killed by police

Glenn Bohne, Jr, was a business owner. He shot and killed his wife and 2 year old daughter and shot and injured his other 2 daughters. No one knows what lead up to shooting. Neighbors shocked. Glenn didn’t have a history of domestic violence or arrests. Possible mental illness?

All were inside a vehicle at time of shooting. Suspect came up to the car on foot and opened fire. Circumstances and suspect unknown

Started as a fight at a basketball game that escalated outside to a shooting. Teacher aide was killed. Suspect unknown

Location: San Antonio, Texas

7 injured (all police officers), suspect killed

Police were responding to a suicide in progress. Suspect had prior violent offenses and had been released on bail.
