Typically the Amish don’t vote in the elections. They definitely do not get involved in politics as a hard and fast rule because politics can pit brother against brother and put neighbors at odds with each other. They live in the world but are not worldly.

Now, 2024 is different. All across the nation we are seeing Trump/Vance flags on buggies, Amish are willingly having their pictures taken with Trump/Vance flags, and they have even been seen on TikTok. All of these things are 100% out of the ordinary for the Amish.

So, the question is…. What started this?

Amos Miller…. And his case against the Department of Agriculture.

Earlier this year, after years of investigation, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture executed a search warrant on Amos Miller’s farm and blocked him from selling raw milk. As a result, they have prevented him from being able to provide for his family and his community. What this has done is spur the Amish community as a whole to want to protect their own and their lifestyle. This means voting conservative as the Republican Party believes in a small central government and the states having more control.

This has been an interesting turn of events in the 2024 election to say the least…..
